Yes, it's really my name...I had parents with a sense of humor!
My love of drawing began when I could hold a crayon. A yellow-green one I remember distinctly. Not only did it have a pleasing color, it tasted pretty good too. Even as a child, my enjoyment of nature’s beauty was never ending. The intricacy and hues of colors, patterns, light and shadow has always been fascinating.
I paint with watercolors, using several glazes to achieve rich darks and vibrant contrasts. Detailed and realistic in style, I endeavors to “see” beyond the obvious to create an image that surpasses the confines of a photograph...shadows infused with color, reflections taking on surrounding hues. When successful, the ordinary becomes extraordinary.
I was honored in 2025 to receive Signature Membership Status with the National Watercolor Society, a long-term goal. I'm also a Signature Member of the Florida Watercolor Society. My work has been published in the Best of Watercolor SPLASH 11 and SPLASH 16, as well as American Artist Magazine. What a journey this has been as I've been awarded several Best of Show and 1st Place awards over the last 25 years.
One of my greatest joys is teaching watercolors, which I have had the privilege to do for over 17 years around the Southeast United States. I've put all I know into these courses, wanting to pass on not only the knowledge I've acquired, but also the unsurpassable joy of creativity that enriches our lives.
But enough about me - as I'm fond of saying... LET'S PAINT!
